Glendalough Wedding

Updated: Oct 1, 2019

9 Bridesmaids. A LOT of rain. A very handsome couple. All going on in the garden of Ireland, and the famous and historical beauty spot that is Glendalough.

So many emotions on this beautiful day! I know photographers and couples everywhere dread the rain and while its not ideal, I knew we'd make the best of it and do everything possible to get the pictures David and Victor wanted. I had been watching the forecast so there was a plan B in the bag. And David and Victor are an all round lovely and sound go with the flow kind of couple so I knew we'd make it work. So with Carlos from Charmano Photography by my side, we got to work , capturing all the details and the getting ready part of the ceremony (umbrellas at the ready for afterwards!)

From the beginning, I met David and Victor over coffee and we knew we were on the same wavelength about photography. Its so important to know your photographers style and that they know yours and its all a great fit. My style is documentary, artistic and natural, and I work intuitively to capture relaxed and beautiful images, which is what David and Victor were looking for.

This was a special one for all of us for many reasons. David is a second cousin of mine, and family played a big part in the day. Our cousin Susan from Life in Verse poetry had created beautiful poems about their story of love and these were on all of the different tables, which were styled to perfection with stunning florals by Yvonne from Yvonne Cassidy weddings who is also a cousin of David's.

Davids grandmother was a very special Aunt of mine and Susan's and she loved to celebrate all kinds of occasions- among her many talents, she would make wedding dresses and cakes, and even made his mum Mary's wedding dress for their wedding in las Vegas. There was a lot of work going on behind the scenes for a long time and seeing it all come together was magic.
